How It Works
The Global Travel Impact Score is based on a rigorous CO2 emissions calculation for businesses within the travel sector. We assess companies across various metrics—such as energy consumption, transportation impact, and waste management—to provide a transparent and comparable score.

How We Measure Impact
1. CO₂ Emissions
Our primary metric, based on detailed assessments of the company’s CO₂ footprint, including energy consumption, transportation impact, and operational emissions.
2. Energy Source and Efficiency
We assess the energy sources used (e.g., renewable vs. non-renewable) and the company’s overall energy efficiency.
3. Waste and Resource Management`
Companies are evaluated on waste minimization, recycling programs, and water usage management to gauge resource efficiency.
4. Offsetting Efforts
Companies that actively offset their emissions or invest in reforestation and other eco-friendly projects receive higher consideration.
5. Environmental Certifications
Additional points are given for recognized sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Globe) or adherence to industry sustainability standards.
